Week 9

You Tube: Hosts user-generated videos and includes network and professional content i.e. it
is a video sharing website where users can upload, view and share video clips. Its a great way for social networking as well.
Check out the Google video of Spores from Machinima.

A podcast is a series ofdigital media files, which are distributed over the Internet using Syndication feeds for playback on portable media players and computers. The term podcast, like broadcasts, can refer either to the series of content itself or to the method by which it is syndicated; the latter is also called podcasting. The author of a podcast is often called a podcaster.

A podcast is simply an audio -- and sometimes a video -- recording made available online. The word is a combination of the words "broadcast" and "iPod," Apple's MP3 player. But, don't let the word "pod" throw you; you don't need an iPod or even an Apple to listen to existing podcasts, or to make your own.
Currently, there are three types of podcasts:
A basic podcast contains only audio and is the easiest to create and listen to.
An enhanced podcast has both audio and slides (like a narrated PowerPoint presentation on the Web).
A vodcast (or video podcast) contains video and audio and is the most difficult to create and view.
